Inventor Inspiration

“I thought there could be an easier way for an angler to install or remove an electronic fish finder on the trolling motor of a fishing boat, so I invented this. My design would work ten times faster than the various transducer mounts already available on the market for avid anglers on boats.”

Dennis Brighthop

Features

  • The stainless steel and aluminum invention
would measure approximately ½ inch tall,
3-1/2 inches long, and 2 inches wide
  • The main body has a pair of opposing
semicylindrical sides that can be opened or
closed as needed by the boat owner
  • A hinge along one long side would enable
the parts to be pivoted apart for opening and
also closed to form a cylinder
  • The open end of each semicylindrical side
would have a bracket mounted into position
  • One bracket would have a pivoting latch,
while the other one has a metal catch
  • This would allow the invention to be quickly
and easily secured and released as needed
    by the boat owner
  • Additionally, the bracket with the latch
includes a short cable with a carabiner
    attached
  • When the transducer for the fish finder
needs to be removed from the trolling motor
on the fishing vessel, this invention would
simply be manually unlatched and opened
    for quick and easy separation
  • The invention would also work with any type
    of trolling motor or size
