Plates for Canon EOS R & Ra. The Really Right Stuff EOS R camera body plates are the premiere solution for mounting your Canon EOS R camera securely to your tripod. Our EOS R plates are custom designed and precision machined from solid blocks of 6061-T6 aluminum.
Fully compatible with 105 RRS Dovetail Standard, this plate features precisely contoured edges for a perfect fit with no twisting between the camera and our plate. It utilizes a custom machined 1/4-20 threaded, captive-style mounting screw that thread into the tripod mounting socket of your camera body.An integrated QD (Quick Detach) socket provides quick attaching and detaching of our QD strap system. The additional 1/4-20 accessory socket gives users the flexibility to attach other devices and products as needed. This plate design utilizes two anti-twist pins to ensure a positive connection between the body and the plate. There is an integrated strap lug for use with hand straps.
The battery compartment and all accessory ports remain fully accessible. On the one-piece L-Plate, a gap between the body and the L-portion allows the user to swing the accessory port doors out to the sides while the open-ended corner provides a space for cables to be routed while mounted on a tripod. The plate's L-portion has a cutout in the dovetail to maximize screen articulation and use. It is specifically positioned to maximize screen fold-out angle and is as low-profile as possible to minimize obstruction of the screen - all while maintaining full access to all accessory ports and providing a solid mount to your tripod. Canon's optional right-angle remote shutter release (RS-60E3) can be used while the camera is mounted in portrait orientation.
Due to the wide variety of cables available on the market, tethering in portrait orientation with USB, HDMI, and audio cables may require the use of the optional RRS CRS. The L-Plate for the optional BG-E22 Battery Grip is also capable of sliding to increase tethering capabilities. Please choose between the conventional base plate or the L-Plate for use with the camera alone for the camera with the optional BG-E22 Battery Grip. Note: The L-Plate is not compatible with Canon's included HDMI strain relief. Note: Our production of EOS R's base is not perfectly perpendicular and square to the lens mount.Due to potential variances in the production process and our very small sample size, we opted to design the plate as if the camera's base was perfectly square to the lens mount. The Safety Stop feature is designed to prevent a camera from sliding out from a clamp when the ball head is oriented into the drop notch during portrait orientation shooting.
